LACRE - Cu\u00edr Art and Resistance Laboratory <\/b>\u00a0is an artistic residency based on practical and theoretical meetings between artists for\u00a0<\/b>to discuss issues related to the production of so-called \"queer art\" and thus introduce a new epistemology based on the idea of the \"cu\u00edr\": a concept that arises to contradict the generalisation of identities and seek a more fluid contextualisation that is less tied to hetero-cis-white-European perspectives on the experiences and artistic production of cu\u00edr people.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

LACRE is mentored and curated by Rod (artist, Coletivo Afrontosas) in partnership with the Goethe-Institut. LACRE is aimed at only to artists who self-identify as black\/racialised Cu\u00edr people<\/b> of any age and working in any artistic field at any level. The laboratory will be organised in 6 sessions (3 hours per session), in a face-to-face dynamic, with practical and theoretical lessons on cu\u00edr art, activism and its role in the personal transformation of identities and their repercussions on society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Visual artist whose artistic production and research dances between the lines of race, gender, sexuality and disability\/chronic illness, critically examining their convergences and dissidences. She began venturing into art through digital painting and illustration, having released her work in various publications and on different platforms (such as Contempor\u00e2nea, Interruptor.pt and SapataPress). Shortly afterwards she expanded her artistic practice to different mediums, such as writing, drawing and traditional painting. Lui L'Abbate is a black cu\u00edr artist who loves light and spaces. Since 2015, he has been working mainly with lighting and performance and researching guerrilla and gambiarra as an aesthetic metrology of creation. Jamaican-American multidisciplinary artist David J. Amado graduated in Music from Columbia University in New York and is a beneficiary of the Ministry of Culture\/GDA project support programme. As a choreographer, his mission is to tell the stories of queer black people through ballet. As a filmmaker, David is deeply influenced by the structure of musical films from the 70s and 80s, the aesthetics of American hip hop culture from the 90s, as well as the writing of black queer pioneers such as James Baldwin. His work is situated at the intersection of the fine arts, the queer intellectual and the ghetto. With a multicultural heritage and a career spanning three continents, David J. Amado approaches choreography, film and fashion with a differentiated and inclusive mindset, where audiences have the opportunity to expand their conceptions of the versatility of the black body, as well as that of ballet.\"<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A hybrid performance artist between theatre and dance who navigates the waters of theatrical anthropology, as a practical-reflexive-theoretical researcher of this practice he presents himself as an actor-dancer - a definition coined by Eug\u00eanio Barba to outline the profile of the artist who investigates and practices the pre-expressive behaviour of the human being in a situation of organised representation. He has a master's degree in arts with a focus on teaching methodology in Afro-Brazilian dance, a degree and postgraduate course in philosophy and a postgraduate course in theatre. In Brazil she has had experience in the areas of contemporary dance, theatre, Afro-Brazilian dances (dances of the orix\u00e1s), performing groups of Afro-Brazilian popular culture, such as congada in Minas Gerais and samba schools. Her experiences and activities in these arts take the form of interpretation, direction, production and education in personal solo and collective creative projects. The hybridity of her artistic background dialogues with her ethnic background, which involves indigenous, African and Portuguese cultures. He is a practitioner of black scenes in movement, Afroqueer corpses, Afro-Atlantic artivism, dialogues and productions of territorial sensitivities of decentralisation and decolonisation of artistic making. Researcher and visual artist. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a Post-Doctorate from the Centre for Communication and Society Studies of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. As a visual artist, his work focuses on decolonial critique. He has taken part in several group exhibitions and solo shows, such as the Lisbon Graphic Fair (2020), Casa do Capit\u00e3o (2021), Espa\u00e7o Damas (2021), Festival Bairro em Festa do Largo Resid\u00eancias (2021), Galeria Not a Museum (2021), MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (2022), at the Lisbon Municipal Galleries (2022\/2023), as well as taking part in festivals and projects, such as the Walk Talk A\u00e7ores Festival 2020, the \"Community as Immunity\" project, the \"First Draft\" project at the Bairro Alto Theatre, Campo de Treino (2021) and De\/Codificar Bel\u00e9m, by Colectivo Faca. He developed the set design for the play \"Casa com \u00c1rvores dentro\", part of the \"P\u00ea - Prefixo de Desumaniza\u00e7\u00e3o\" project, together with Cl\u00e1udia Semedo, Gisela Casimiro, Kalaf Epalang, among other artists. Thirty-three-year-old black, cisgender and gay man born on the outskirts of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He is a dancer, choreographer and movement director, a lover of theatre and singing, a researcher of Yoruba mythology and a fourteen-year-old initiate of the African religion of the Ket\u00fa Nation (Candombl\u00e9) in Brazil.<\/div>

In Portugal, Jorge worked with great figures in African and Contemporary Dance, such as Mestre Petchu and the renowned choreographer Benvindo Fonseca, also collaborating with the Traditional Angolan Dance Company Kilandukilu and as a guest dancer and teacher at the Batoto Yetu PT Association. Institutions such as the School of the Bal\u00e9 Folcl\u00f3rico da Bahia Foundation, the School of Dance of the Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia (FUNCEB) and Walt Disney have also been part of his career, where Jorge integrated and supervised the more than forty members of the musical show The Lion King in both European cities, Hamburg and London.
